The  game was organised between current players and former players the 59er's.

Some good tight bowling by Richard Pearson and Mike Howells kept Verwood to what looked like a gettable score of 103.

Still in with a chance

Well Maybe Not

In spite of a promising start from Kevin Hall for the 59er's,they  slumped from 30 without loss to 74 at the end of the 16 overs.

After a wonderful tea everybody was so refreshed that it was decided to play a twenty20 match.

Verwood batted first again, and were held to 124 which on the face of it was well within the 59er's grasp.

Marc Andrew had played a masterstroke. He put his two sons Jack and Tommy on to bowl at the death and they were nearly impossible to get away.

The 59 er's unfortunately got off to a terrible start and were reduced to 3 for 5 and then just to add to their woes had the odd tendon problem.

Marc Andrew steadied the ship a touch but needing 70 odd off 5 overs was it never on the cards.

 Verwood were comfortable victors.

Marc Andrew and son Jack, was it a miss field or even a Hippo?

Now down to business beer, wine, burgers, cake and Gossip.

I  would like express the clubs thanks to all who participated, and especially our thanks to all those who put in so much work to making it such a good day.

We hope to see you all soon maybe at the Xmas party on the 20th December.
