Marc Andrew's celebration of 25 years playing cricket for Verwood match. Sunday the 29th June 2008.
Verwood back row left to right: Eric Pearson, Dan Thompson, John Hopwood, Charlie Gajic, Ali Gajic Umpire Richard Mayo. Front row: Chris Jolliffe, Luck Hancock, Matt Richmond, Mike Jolliffe, Steve Maycock, Jerry Milward, Adam Richmond. 59 er's back row left to right: Iain Salmon, Kevin Hall,
Nigel Alcazar, Alan King, Tony Harris, Cedric Hall, Mike Howells, Les Cross
The game was organised between current players and former players the 59er's. The first game was 16 overs a side, and Verwood batted first. Some good tight bowling by Richard Pearson and Mike Howells kept Verwood to what looked like a gettable score of 103.

Cricket what Cricket, We are only here for the gossip!
Still in with a chance
Well Maybe Not In spite of a promising start from Kevin Hall for the 59er's,they slumped from 30 without loss to 74 at the end of the 16 overs. After a wonderful tea everybody was so refreshed that it was decided to play a twenty20 match. Verwood batted first again, and were held to 124 which on the face of it was well within the 59er's grasp. Marc Andrew had played a masterstroke. He put his two sons Jack and Tommy on to bowl at the death and they were nearly impossible to get away. The 59 er's unfortunately got off to a terrible start and were reduced to 3 for 5 and then just to add to their woes had the odd tendon problem. Marc Andrew steadied the ship a touch but needing 70 odd off 5 overs was it never on the cards. Verwood were comfortable victors.
Marc Andrew and son Jack, was it a miss field or even a Hippo?
Now down to business beer, wine, burgers, cake and Gossip. I would like express the clubs thanks to all who participated, and especially our thanks to all those who put in so much work to making it such a good day. We hope to see you all soon maybe at the Xmas party on the 20th December.
